Tyre Test

Just swapped from 300mile old A3s to the ScorpionTrail2. Immediate difference! Scorpion2 rolls far better with great feel - not dissimilar to how Pirellis feel on their sportsbike tyres. Still too early to tell, but immediate feedback is promising.

I'm happy with my Tourance Next, so far 3000 miles and not a lot of wear to show, although they weave a bit when filtering on white lines.

The Anekkees are out of stock because BMW have purchased "the lot" ... its all down to individual likes and dislikes .. I love "em and wouldn't fit anything else to my Gs.:thumb

Think I might try a set of these next, but have to say I might just regret it as these Avons are awesome.

Useful post.

+1 for the Scorpions

The pair of Pirelli Scorpions I had, frightened me !!!
I'm much happier with the grip and feel of the (admittedly noisy) Michelin A3.

I enjoyed reading the article , but my personal findings differ from the test !

can anyone with the Pirelli Scorpion Trail 2's give any kind of idea of rear mileage

On my second set - first changed early as I had a long trip coming up and I wasn't sure whether they would last. Second set now on 4800 miles, centre tread depth new 8mm, currently at 5mm. Very happy with them, wet grip, dry grip and life. YMMV.

Had Met. Next on my previous GS and GSA LC,s but prefer now the Annakees 3. More grip and feel especially on uneven road surfaces.Just shows you eh:thumb.Back to a standard 2016 GS LC,more "Flickability"and fun for me:)

Has anyone have an opinion on the TKC70 or Anakee Wild on the GSA LC? I'm just about to order one and was thinking of going for the TKC 80's first the replace for the 70's or Anakee Wild.

Pls share your views

Thanks

I use TKC70 on my GSA. Good feel, real world useful off road but not too compromised on road. Perfect for me but it's all so subjective.

I find the Wild's very off road orientated. I don't particularly like them on road at all. The bike is never settled and wet grip is terrible (compared to a road tyre) and my rear was done after about 1800 miles. That said, they are great for off road.

Dunlop Roadsmart 3's

I'm very pleased with the all round performance of the Dunlop Roadsmart 3's. Wet and dry grip are very confidence giving, they are wearing well after 4,000+ miles mostly two up with full luggage. And they are much quieter than the Michelin A3's.

trail attack 2's are very very scary in the wet. Wear great, but mine are halfway worn and will be off when bike is out again as they are the worst tyre ive had on a bike when ground cold or wet.

Having had 2 Multistradas before recently getting a new triple black (absolutely no regrets either!!) the tyres I will put on as soon as these wear out are the Pirelli Angel GT. they were on my first multi and lasted 10000 miles, the first 3500 being two up going to Croatia and back. I found the Angel GT had almost the same feel as the Scorpion, better in the wet and MUCH better mileage. Very little squaring off and great feel.
Just my pennyworth.

I had a set of Tourance Next fitted in Austria a few years back and did 15,500 miles on them. Front got pretty worn but the back still had some tread although a little square.

TKC 70s are my current favourite. Excellent road performance wet and dry, consistent behaviour as they wear and they last well.

Wow that's a good distance ! I'm only getting 4,400 from the rear tyre on Anakee 3 (the fronts last double this )
