Tyres - dual compound any good?

Having covered 15500km in the last couple of months I have only just realised my rear tyre is close to 1mm at min point.

I know I use 98% of the tyre since you can see a clear outline just shy of either edge, but the outer parts look totally unused (I do mostly motorway riding and just did 3000km trip to south spain).

Wondered if anyone has experience with skinny dual compound tyres? Do they even make them?

I've never bought tyres for my motorbike so don't even know where to get them from.

Next have good right ups and I have friends who tried them and swear by them. Supposed to be better than exps for wear!! I will be trying them on my 650 when I change tyres soon

Don't know about dual compound but with regard to where from -

http://www.roadwheel.co.uk/ in Fleet - the chap there supplies tyres fitted for a little bit cheaper than pnuesonline will deliver them. Never scratched alloys. Call him first as the rear size is not one he always has in.
