Evening all . Has any body ran a pair of bridgestone T30s on there 1200 rt lc if so what did you reckon. My RP 4s are about shot and need changing shortly any info would be appreciated.

Someone I know is an IAM observer and has an RT LC, he says out of all the sets he has used they are in his opinion by far the best tyres for the bike.
Will look at getting a set when I wear my PR4's out which so far have covered only 2500 miles.

I had a pair of T30's on my last RTLC just before i sold it, and after my shagged out Conti Attacks, they felt lovely. However, the PR4s on my new RTLC feel and perform equally as good, wet or dry.
So its just down longevity, and I didnt have the T30's long enough to see how long they lasted.
As for the Conti's, they never let me down, but both sets i had, only lasted 5,000ish miles before they were totally shagged.

hmmm ill stick with rp4s then at least i know what im getting,and 5000 miles to being proper shagged is about the same as mine. cheers
I use PR4's instead of the recommended PR4 GT's as I ride solo generally without panniers and think the ride is less harsh.

Am running PR4's at the moment and have to say great tyre, no issues or concerns all weathers. Everyone has a preference and today there are so many good tyres you cannot go wrong really. Due to change mine soon and may move to the new Dunlop Roadsmart 3 just out, will match the PR4's and the Dunlop TR91 was my favorite tyre on my previous GS Adventure before moving to the RT. The Metzler 01 and Bridgestone T30 Evo also have good reviews too. As a dealer said to me last week, tyre development has been so good over the last few years that it is hard to find a bad tyre out there now as long as you stick to premium brands and choose the correct tyre for riding style.

Reading Guy Martin's book When You Dead, You Dead, he talks about running a specially made hard cross ply tyre on the front of his IOM bike! Michael Dunlop thought he was mad! Just shows how important personal preference is...
Having said all that - Michelin Pilot Sport 4 are clearly the best tyre on an RT!
. I chucked out nearly new Bridgestones to fit them, and what a difference that made in my head!!Puggy

Conti attacks were stock and crap on my 2014..in the wet they felt like they were going to wash out constantly and were the least inspiring tyres I have ever had. They lasted 8,5k and then completely delaminated in 30 miles…would never see them on one of my bikes again. I switched to Michelin pilot road 4 NON GT variant…best tyres I have had by miles on any bike in years...especially in the wet…the difference in ride quality was staggering esp with the slightly softer tyre wall. I am now on my second set, bike has done 23k miles in total and I ride every day. I'm not sure how they would cope 2 up and fully loaded but I ride solo at 110kg and ride pretty quick. The grip for the first 4k is amazing, on a dry road I can ride right to the side wall and in my youth probably off it.., they then go "off" for about 2k which is a bit disconcerting...then they came back to me and lasted for nearly a full 10k in total. Second set are following suit.. Can't believe the confidence level these things give me in the wet…astonishing. I do a mixture of A road and dual carriageway in the winter and they "Flat off" quite quickly (around 3k). This doesn't stop the mechanical grip but you have to get used to the transfer across the tyre where the ridge is…once over though the tyre grips really well. This set I have deliberately used the twisties this Summer and they have held their profile really well and are still a right laugh even after 4k on them. I won't put another tyre on my LC...
They are £260 ride in ride out from Dave Clarke's in Oxford….he literally can't buy enough of them they are that popular… but obviously just my opinion and it depends how you ride… but for me they are just awesome….
I have now watched the video and fairly gobsmacked at the result. Doesn't change the way I feel though…Michelin all day for real every day riding..I'm not cynical that Metzeler won this at all….hahahaha..
