send them back to be repaired :nenau

Lovely earpieces, fecking useless servicing. Brand new units have gone back twice and just came back again with new problems this time. I am in two minds on whether to ask for a refund and go to the competition.:nenau

I’ve been toying with the idea of getting a set of these.

What problems?
What opposition?:nenau

Thanks
.

I bought 3 sets from UE. 2 were perfect but on the third, there was a defect with one earpiece. That defect was not fixed properly first time, and that created a second defect. Problem is I can't keep sending them back. I have no issues with the quality of the product, just miffed that the service I received post purchase has not been up to scratch.

However, I am glad to report the power of UKGser works, and I have been contacted by a company representative who promised to help me out. I shall keep you updated.

Btw, the opposition is out there, google is your friend. However, having seen the opposition at the Excel this year, I paid the premium and went with UE, purely in terms of the quality of their offering. Despite the issues, I don't regret that decision.

I hope my criticism is constructive for UE, and within the rules/ethos of the forum. If not, mods feel free to remove the posts.

I have a similar problem. Can't wear my left UE plug for any great length of time because it hurts, especially getting the thing out. So have to resort to a generic which is fine. No problems on the right hand side.

Hi there,
I brought a set at the NEC show as well and like you had a long wait before they arrived. Must admit the sound quality is fantastic but the fit is poor and does not seem an identical match to the moulds taken at the show.
I phoned Ultimate ear and explained my problem and was told to email my points to there technical team and back it up with photographs which I did straight away. Waited a few days heard nothing, emailed again waited a few days still nothing and i'm still waiting.
There back up seems terrible, even an email confirming they had received mine and would deal with it in due course would be nice, I just hope this is not a refection on the product!

Regards Andy

Have you contacted the company to advise them of this?

Its a bespoke product and like anyone who has ever experience made to measure first cut isn't always perfect but small refinements can turn an uncomfortable plug into a comfortable one.

If you haven't then please do so, I recommend you email me at presales{at}ultimateear{dot}com in the first instance but we will require some photos of them in your ears to help determine where the problem may lie.

I'll await contact from you.

Andy

You have a PM requesting info so I can follow this up for you.

Cruiser,

Not the best labelled ear anatomy I've seen, it looks to me like a pinching issue, too much material in the concha area might be distorting the helix. Need to see them in your ears for a better opinion I've sent you a PM.

Top Service

These guys (Advanced Communication Solutions): http://www.hearingprotection.co.uk/ repaired my faulty in ear monitors - superb service!

Well, what they actually did was replace them with brand new, uprated drivers in new earpieces. The took the mold from my faulty monitors, advised me they may not fit quite as well as the originals, gave me a choice of colours, length of cable, plug type and fitted some strain relief on the cables.

They charged me around £80 for this "repair" and what I actually received were brand new monitors with better spec drivers that fit perfectly.

Top service and reasonable charges!

As a vote for the 'opposition' I can recommend Green Leopard :thumb2

Mine use the acoustic tubes which some say give poorer sound quality :nenau but when plugged into my Zumo I enjoy listening to my MP3's and can happily hear the directions :clap

Before buying my ear pieces I searched UKGSer to see what the options were and it seemed to me that there were a lot more problems with Ultimate Ear products. I've had them for a couple of years now and have had no issues with them at all.

I've no axe to grind and have nothing to do with either company but I am a satisfied customer :bounce1

Update if anyone at UE is listening.

I am still waiting. 3 weeks later...

:blast :nenau
