Uneven downpipe discolouration

Hi. I have a 2010 1200gs (1000 miles) and one downpipe has blued strongly while the othe has browned with only slight blue marking here and there. I am concerned that maybe one side is running hotter than the other indicating a mixture problem or similar? Should I be concerned? Any advice appreciated.

There's a zillion reasons from microscopic differences in pipe thickness and injector settings to phases of the moon.

It's under warranty so just ride and enjoy.

The LH pipe on my '10 started bluing before the RH side. It also developed a bluer spot where it turns down coming out of the cylinder. I now have over 4K miles on it with quite a bit of those at 80 - 100 MPH. The pipes are now a sweet straw color somewhat bluer near the cylinder. Give it time.

If youe look at the bike from above, you will se that due to engine construction, one pipe is longer than the other, meaning taht the longer pipe should absorb more heat than the shorter. I'll guess that the shorter one is the blue one.

same thoughts and same issue with my 2010 but it seems to evening out with use ( now 3500 ) and the bike is getting smoother and smoother at say 2000 rpm in 4th don't worry- be happy !
