V85TT service/Stelvio test ride.

I know the screen you mean Givi Airflow. Someone gave me one which I had on a previous V85. He'd buggered about cutting the top half of the screen so it was unsellable, so gave it to me. I tried it and ended up just using the lower half.
I thought it looked good (just the lower half) and was the best screen I'd had on a V85.
Thanks for the info, as always. I’ll fit it and give it a go. It might help if it gets a bit wet and cold on the way down to The Algarve.
It looks ugly off of the bike so I’m not sure it’s going to improve things aesthetically.

I'd agree it does look ugly. But surprisingly the bottom half alone looks rather good on the bike IMHO and is very effective.

I think that overall the Stelvio felt like a better bike to me than the V85TT.
But I don’t necessarily think that that makes it a nicer bike.
The V85 really is very pleasant and one of the nicest bikes I’ve had.
I have been in a similar situation when comparing two machines.

The Kawasaki Z900RS is a far better machine than the Triumph T120, but has none of its charm and character. I have had 4 happy years on the Triumph.

It's sure is a funny old game, the things that make us love different bikes.

+1 for the T120 Bonneville, I had mine for six years, a great bike but I ended up chopping it in for a new V85tt which I like so much more.

Frasers is a good dealer. My local one for many years when I lived in the Wye Valley & Cheltenham. I would have bought my V85 there if I hadn't moved 2 hours north.

Changing bikes for so little use seems counter intuitive to me. Although, I doubled my annual mileage in 6 months after I bought the V85 in March as my hip no longer hurts when riding!
+ 1 for Frasers of Gloucester. Helpful, reasonably priced and for me a nice ride through the Cotswolds to get to👍

Agree that the Stelvio is more of everything compared to the’85 apart from character. I rode them back to back and went with the E5+ V85. It’s all I need really. Went to Europe on it this year, with just a Kreiga tail pack and it performed admirably. Only thing I’ve done to it is wire in some Oxford heated grips so they can be controlled through the dash.

For an every day do anything bike, I’ve yet to come across something to better it.

Off topic perhaps, but I notice that Frasers of Gloucester have a rather nice MG Mandello for sale, anyone know anything about it?

I also just bought a E5+ V85. I chose it over the Stelvio and the R12GS. both are lovely bikes and very happy to have them but the costs are a factor. I could afford to buy the R12 and the Stelvio but neither were giving me anything more than the V85 and probably a bit less other than some more power. I dont miss any power yet and I am still running it in..

I’m going to be keeping my 2022 V85TT for a bit longer.
I’m of to The Portuguese Moto GP in a couple of weeks so it’ll get some use. (About time)
I might change it next year at some point.

As per one of my posts above, we went to the NEC Motorhome show last week…new van ordered. 😁🤢
