hi i am trying to upload v9 to my bmw nav3 (2820) but it keeps telling me i have not enough space for maps.garmin said they would e-mail me with what to do a few days ago but have heard nothing yet.anyone able to help or should i ring garmin again .thanks

v9 takes 1.3Gb for NT version and > 2GB for non-NT. How much memory does the 2820 have?

Look at your unit as a USB device. You can delete POIs that you don't use (if you have any) tunes, books & voice languages that are not in use. That may give you enough space.....:nenau

The Garmin site says that this GPS stores it's maps on "Solid-state, Pre-programmed media" and says nothing about the size of it's buit in memory?

Are you sure the maps can be upgraded via the PC?

the unit says it has 650 of memory left and the maps for all of europe take up 1200 but as far as i know the unit has a built in memory of 2.2gb guess i will have to get on to garmin again ,they said there would be no bother updating once i got e-mail from them .will let you know how i get:nenau on

The 2820 can store about 1 gig of mp3s so the number of 2.2 gig "total capacity" looks accurate....
