What valve covers fit with oem crash bars on 17 plate gsa?
Also anyone used bar end protectors? I'm planning on a bit of off road practise and anticipate a few drops....

Machine Art X Heads go on, but you have to remove the bars to fit and remove the plastic “bumper” from the crash bars.

Work well though, as I can testify to...... twice

Machine Art X are fantastic products, of course, however as a lower cost option (but still well made) I’ve fitted these to my GSA

I had been told they didn't? Do you have to remove the bars with all of them?

Martin, I have just fitted the BMW ones on the same bike as the above photo.
They do fit with a minimal clearance, but you do have to remove the bars.
Torque settings for the bar bolts: lower rear 59Nm and front upper/lower 19Nm, not stated in my Haynes manual. Also need to replace the valve cover rear bolts with those supplied in the kit (10Nm only) which have an outer thread to allow fastening of the protector. plus a small screw at the front and underside of the protector. You need to insert these before tightening the main securing bolt, be careful they will strip easily (just got that feeling although did not happen).
Hope that is useful in making your decision which ones to get.
