Some of you might remember this bike being listed on this site a few months back. Lots of comments including mine but the owner changed his mind and decided to keep the bike thus it went unsold. It stuck with me so I contacted the owner and said I was very interested in buying it if he was to ever sell it. The reply was that he was going to keep it. A few days later I got a PM saying he had other bikes and very little room and if I wanted it he would sell it to me. Today I went up country , about 125 miles, to look at the bike. It’s a lovely old thing having been cared for for the last 10years by a very capable owner that kept meticulous records of all work done and any potential problems. As an example, this era of Guzzi has a reputation for breaking its selector return spring in the transmission. I asked the owner if this had happened to him. The answer was “No it’s never broken but I am aware of the problem and there are two upgraded springs suppled with the bike”. One was in the original tool pouch under the seat! I bought the bike and road it home……..I’m thrilled with it and would just like to thank Simon one more time for allowing me to buy it, I consider myself a very lucky boy! (more like an old man!,)for having the good luck to have found the bike in the UKGSER for sale section. I wish you all similar good fortune!!!IMG_0925.jpeg

I was thinking about that bike at the weekend

Its a beautiful thing and those V11s are such an engaging bike to ride

Congratulations its a beauty

I remember that bike. Was really good value. Thought about messaging at one stage. Even found a brown seat for sale on EBay!!!

Enjoy.

Thank you for all of your comments. Just off on the Tenni Saturday morning to visit a chum about 175 miles away, and back Sunday. The comment “And health to enjoy” Is becoming very poignant as I’ve recently turned 76 and while I’m very health at the minute I realize I will experience massive change in the next 5 years, more than in the last 20 years so cramming in as many different bikes as possible. This BS about “my old body just can’t assume the position anymore “ is straight BS and if any of you profess that attitude your much older than me and I don’t mean just in years. You are what you think you are! Rode a 1995 Ducati 900SS to Brno Moto GP race this year, 2200 miles in complete comfort in spite of the rain. Must say the Ducati is slightly more comfortable than the Guzzi Tenni but I’ll get it there with a few minor tweaks. The Ducati, by the way is for sale at MIS in Newark not because it’s a bad bike, quite the contraire, only because I wanted to try the Guzzi. The Ducati is their (MIS’s )yellow one. If any of you want to feel 35 again and have questions about it PM me happy to answer any of your questions. Stay young boys and girls, you can always ride 1250 GS’s when your really old!!
