Some of you might remember this bike being listed on this site a few months back. Lots of comments including mine but the owner changed his mind and decided to keep the bike thus it went unsold. It stuck with me so I contacted the owner and said I was very interested in buying it if he was to ever sell it. The reply was that he was going to keep it. A few days later I got a PM saying he had other bikes and very little room and if I wanted it he would sell it to me. Today I went up country , about 125 miles, to look at the bike. It’s a lovely old thing having been cared for for the last 10years by a very capable owner that kept meticulous records of all work done and any potential problems. As an example, this era of Guzzi has a reputation for breaking its selector return spring in the transmission. I asked the owner if this had happened to him. The answer was “No it’s never broken but I am aware of the problem and there are two upgraded springs suppled with the bike”. One was in the original tool pouch under the seat! I bought the bike and road it home……..I’m thrilled with it and would just like to thank Simon one more time for allowing me to buy it, I consider myself a very lucky boy! (more like an old man!,)for having the good luck to have found the bike in the UKGSER for sale section. I wish you all similar good fortune!!!
