Voge DS800X

At that price, why not?
The Chinese have never caused me any problems. Our own government has harmed me more than anything China will ever do.
Then don't complain that they burn loads of coal and are building massive military strength because you are paying for it.

They maybe OK motorcycles but only cheapskates non-patriots buy Chinese instead of supporting their own economy.
Can you explain how buying a motorcycle made in Germany, using mainly Far Eastern/Chinese components is classed as supporting our own economy please. It appears you too are a cheapskate non-patriot.

Ok, stever1 you may have a point….but. At least buying a motorcycle made in Germany even using Far Eastern/chinese components isn’t directly putting monies into the Chinese's economy's.
It’s not like purchasing something well and truely made completely in China. It may look like splitting hairs at the end of the day but I’m afraid “those people” wont be getting any of my hard earned cash! I would rather poke my eyes out with a shitxy stick than buy from anything from China.
And yes, I most certainly pay more for what I want, but I’m not ashamed to say I SUPPORT the U.K. 100%
Like I have previously stated on here: You can have good but it won’t be cheap-or you can have cheap but it wont be good. No, I’m not a cheapskate non patriot!

You can guarantee that china are making far more £ on the sale of billions of components than they are on complete motorcycles /cars.

Once again, I can’t argue with that! But one thing is for sure, they aren’t getting any of my £s…

Who mentioned Germany? Anyway if you are interested in German motorcycles, how is my 1250 GS made in Berlin mainly made from Far Easter and Chinese components, when the engine, for example, the heart of the bike, was made in Berlin? You also need to distinguise between Far Eastern and Chinese, there is a big, big difference.

Both statements are to a degree true but do you not think that buying decisions should be made with regard to the ethics of the country benefitting? Would you both agree that generating income for China is indirectly propping up unpleasant regimes such as Putin and enabling China to destabilise the world? I would hope that companies like BMW reconsider sourcing so much from China and instead buy from the many other lower cost countries as Triumph do in Thailand and other companies do in India

Nathan speaks much sense as always

Ha. Not always Arsey, but back from Portugal yesterday.
Yeah it was a good bike. Can't fault it really. They just need to sharpen up their act on the specs and transparency. The 'fluff' over net and wet weight was a bit of a convenience on their part. I'm not convinced by those power claims either. Would be good to get one on a dyno. But as a bike to do the job of travelling I thought it was very good. Nice to ride. Comfy. Looks good with some road grime on it. Wouldn't use it for another trail trip but as a back road/A road tourer it's a good addition to the market I thought.

On the issue of tubeless/tubed, we road with a Portuguese guy on a Tenere who had two rear punctures running Mitas E09s. He had three mates with him and took all of them to break the bead. Second time it took three hours and the help of a farmer to get the bead back on the rim. Then we had a Himi 450 running tubeless rims that had a big hit and dented his rim and it just started to lose air on the ride back up. Could have been a trip ender. So you could still make a case either way.

Just how bad do China have to behave before we stop funding their crooked regime?

Britain used to have an empire, British goods sold throughout the world and helped fuel our dominant position. The Chinese Empire is on the rise fueled by its manufacturing industry, should we keep fueling it by buying Chinese stuff? Do we care if China dominates the World industrially, politically and militarily, just like we used to?

I have owned a Voge dsx 525, which is a very good and very well equipped a££ordable bike,,, I don't think that by not buying it I would have adversely affected China's economy

I guess I'm now due to be berated 🤣
