Voge DS900X

But why would you have to give the Voge away for free ? I know this is the bastion of blinkered GS fanboy worship but surely some can see that they are being ripped off by the likes of BMW .

The Voge has a very similar engine to the 850/900 GS, slightly detuned for A2 compliance but still 95bhp.

The same wheels, brakes, suspension, and frame .

So BMW have their bike made in China, stick on their own plastics and seat and double the price .

And the blinkered muppets go PCPing with eyes wide shut . Bless
I don’t think that the suggestion was the you’d have to give the above away.
Only that if you did you’d more than likely be no worse off than if you’d bought the BMW.

I’m with you by the way. The whole BMW model, with its massive showrooms and associated bollocks is shit and not something that I’m inclined to pay for.
As for the customer service I received, at UK dealership at least, certainly not ‘premium’ in my experience.

I’m not in the market for another bike but if I was, the above would be above the BMW for sure.

Huge depreciation as a percentage of its new value or as a chunk of money ?
As an example...£7500 loss in 5 yrs is the same total for each bike...but it'd 'only' be c 50% on a specced F900GS versus 83% of the Voge...so someone tells you it'll lose 80% of its value over 5 yrs and it sounds dire..but may not be. Time will tell
The actual depreciation in cash is gonna be the same so I’d go for proven BMW for now. If the Voge proves it self over time it’ll be the winner .

That's my point...anyone anti Voge/CF Moto etc always mentions huge depreciation...but it is quite likely to be similar in cash terms.

My ears! What a weird accent, Scouse, meets Lancashire, with a bit of Yorkshire?!
That’s probably because what is now Merseyside was Lancashire. Still is really.
Just here we’re between West Yorkshire, North Yorkshire and only a few miles (although we don’t like to admit it) from Lancashire.

I have yet to buy a bike worrying about what it's worth when it comes to selling or is that the done thing these days. :nenau
Same for me. My bikes get used and abused. I dropped my current (2022 Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro) on the Col de sommelier in August. Not much damage really, a few bits of plastic bodywork. I’ll probably get round to replacing the broken bits at some point. No rush though, it still works fine. Doesn’t look pretty but that’s not really any concern to me.

I’m a bit anti Chinese.

Having had a cf moto vehicle before that was shite. I’d tread very carefully before buying another.

What will they copy once they’ve put the big hitters out of business? You think they’ll spend on R&D like KTM / BMW?

Not a chance. You’ll be riding jerky, rusty bikes, festooned with twinkly lights and other 99p shop tat before you know it.

And I suppose you think they all wear funny grey suits and ride around on pushbikes all day long ?

That’s not the point I’m making. Giving the Voge away for free is a worst case scenario and even then it’s financially close.
I have a 2023 GSA but I’m buying a Kove to see if these new bikes are the way forward.
If we all keep buying the Panzers the list price will just keep going North and the quality will suffer.
Absolutely, an individual’s only defence against the burgeoning increase in costs from the mainstream manufacturers is to vote with your feet.
When (if) sales volumes suffer, that’s the only time the big makers will think about value to customers.

And your vanity cost you £7k . Enjoy your Chinese GS . Muppet
Until you start vaunting about the next best thing and how everyone else’s bikes are crap etc etc. Your cyclical behaviours never change. Last time I logged in it was (insert an array of latest must have bike models) now it’s the Chinky Chong special. What’s next? Yawn.

What’s next ?
Who knows but I’m always open to try new bikes from different manufacturers.
But I do know it won’t be a BMW, as I’m not taken in by flashy showrooms filled with arrogant salesmen supping lattes whilst waiting for the blind mice to form the PCP queue.

Enjoy your precision built German engineering Chinky Chong powered GS. At least the motor should be reliable 😜
