Voge DS900X

I believe MSL magazine is getting the 900 next month for a long term tester bike.

I have a Chinese bike. KTM 790.
There obvious places that money has been saved like the handlebars. Not Renthal. Brush-guards are a bit weedy.
The chain looks like it wont stand the test of time. There was no tool kit and nowhere to put it if you had it.

But, it is a way better bike than my original 790, especially in the engine dept.
Now, I assume KTM did the design work on the engine and the FCMoto built the thing, but it is so much better/smoother/tractable.
I like it.
under either side panel there are tool holders and a kit, at leat there was on mine.

Mate has a brand new gs900, we parked it next to the VOGE 900 and its the same bike bar the tank covers and headlight etc, frame engine wheels brakes everything.

Your mate I guess, sadly
The ‘ propellers, silhouetted against the blue sky’ roundel isn’t what it once was

We won’t know for at least 5 years I guess , when we will have seen what sort of reliability and depreciation both will have experienced

I would not worry too much about these as long as any reliability problems are dealt with in terms of factory back-up to dealers and the availability of parts . They don't have to reach a very high bar to better KTM in this aspect.

This is why I will wait a while before dipping my toe into the Voge pool. Turkey, France and Spain have the beta testers and there are links above to a Youtube channel of a Brit in Spain who has had his for 6 months. He seems to be the conduit for information on the EU forums about developments.

As for depreciation, I don't really care. Even if it is 50% in the first year, that is less cash than 25% on the equivalent BMW.

I don’t think there will be a jot of difference and don’t most Chinese bikes (Voge/CF Moto/Kove) come with 4 years warranty and breakdown cover & BMWs come with 3 ?
It’s 2 years on the Voge, 4 years on the CFmoto

Surely if you bought a CF Moto on PCP over 4 years, it will have a guaranteed future value when the payments are calculated. You've got 4 years warranty so as long as you keep within the mileage limits and have it serviced on time you know how much it's going to cost you for the next 4 years, assuming you keep it that long. And you can get parts, when it breaks.......

Depreciation ?
A bit weak that argument. Those bikes where for sale but they are only worth what the buyer will pay.
After saying that, due to the cheaper price new, I don’t believe they will lose any more money than a main stream bike.

Errrr … Motorbikes are meant to be fun….

All this talk of depreciation-warranties pcp- cheaper than this …cheaper then that..

It is sucking all the fun out of it…

Buy it cos it makes you smile, gives you a tingle…..buy it cos you look back as you walk away….

Or - just buy a Honda.

This gentleman is what it should be about - see that face… it’s not wracked with worry over warranties or depreciation ….. no sireeeIMG_7323.jpeg
