Hi, trying to adjust volume on the zumo/scala. I know the scala has the volume buttons and the zumo has two volumes. The one on the mp3 player and another I think by pressing the bottom button and then the + or - button. When I press the bottom button the headphone icon appears but neither the touchscreen + or - or hard + or - buttons work. Any ideas?

I think to adjust the 'master' volume it must be mounted in the cradle first.

This isn't the case when adjusting the 'other' volume control.

I've sussed it out. Yes it does have to be in the cradle and always was but.... it was connected by bluetooth to the headset and I just got a headset symbol when trying to adjust the master volume. I had to try again without being connected to by bluetooth and this time got the bars up on the master volume.

If it's anything like mine connected via my Autocom you still won't be able to hear it when wearing earplugs.

What were Garmin thinking when they made a device with such a puny volume level...............did they forget a lot of bikers wear earplugs.

Oh well..........rant over.......for now !!!

I have no trouble at all hearing my Zumo with my ear plugs in :nenau

No disrespect here, but have you have set all the volume options on the Zumo haven't you?

Jon,

Thanks but yes i have set all volumes to max.

I have spoken to Autocom and will be taking my bike in to them in the near future for them to 'tweak' (their word) the volume for me.........£15 charge, well worth a try.............they are a good company IMHO.

Cheers.

Ian,

I think you might be doing Garmin an injustice.

I don't know why, but the Zumo volume is much lower when routed via an Autocom.

I usually listen via autocom, and have to have the zumo up quite loud when doing this.

However, when I plugged my headphones direct into the zumo cradle, the volume nearly took my head off!

Hopefully, the autocom adjustment will sort it for you :thumb2

I have my UltimateEar monitors plugged directly into my Zumo and the sound is great, only 2 yellow bars (3 on really windy Days), mp3 sound in the setup is as per factory at 70%.

Simon.
