I used to live near there - be happy to fill you in if you need local info
Someone has mentioned that it can be a bit damp there - and it can also be pretty cold in winter - now for instance;! The locals will fit their snow tyres in November and remove them in March. Strangely Colmar (and Alsace in general) has a sunnier climate and, i our opinion some of the best wine in France.
The Vosges has some of the wettest weather in France. It can be cold in the spring and autumn too, be prepared if you're travelling with an 'R' in the month.Someone has mentioned that it can be a bit damp there - and it can also be pretty cold in winter - now for instance;!
Second sunniest city in France, sunnier than Marseille, Nice etcStrangely Colmar (and Alsace in general) has a sunnier climate
A deserved reputation it is losing rapidly, unfortunatly.and, i our opinion some of the best wine in France
We're heading from Strasbourg to Luzern at the end of July. Current plan is to ride the B500 in the Black Forest,
As to liking bleak and open, as opposed to forests? Um, er, um... why go to the Black Forest?

It's an obvious way to connect Zeebrugge to Luzern before heading into the Alps![]()
