Waiting for Trollstigen_Lysebotn

Feel free to visit Norway guys.
Mid May for 6 weeks for me and my Mrs (in a small campervan tho). To say I am looking forward to it is a huge understatement.

I think that will be perfect timing. Before the top-tourist season, and usually the weather in late May is normally quite good. I recommend using yr.no (you can select english as language) as you weather forcaster and choose your route accordingly. Often you can find different seasons within 200 km. The mountan range going from north to south are often a barrier for the weather, so it might rain the east and be sunny in the west.

Did that in 2005.......the hairpin in the tunnel is an experience 😁

We’re visiting similar time, I think we arrive 19th May in Oslo, thence NW to Kristiansund and south to Bergen.

Let’s hope it’s dry ( we’re on bike) 🤞🤞

I'm heading to Norway as part of a S Scandi route, at the end of May. Is the Lysebotn a ride in from the South East via Sirdal and then ferry out toward the West, I don't want to retrace my steps but the road looks fun. I'm heading N toward Bergen then riding the Old Milk Trail from Göl towards the NE and then down back toward the Swedish border and the gravel roads south in Sweden.

Yes, that's what me and 2 mates did 2 years ago. We stayed overnight in a hut at Lysebotn and got the ferry the following morning. It's worth booking a hut in advance as there aren't many of them and it's essential to book the ferry as it's small and can only take a few bikes and cars.
