And that’s a good thing? It probably had ABS as standard too and a trip computer as an option
There is so much more technology in a GS these days for a similar price at up to date rates,
Lean sensitive ABS, traction control, TPMS, cruise control, semi active suspension with configurable damping and auto preload etc, even variable spring rate on the 1300s which is superb, TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity for navigation, music, phone, electric screens etc.etc.

I’ve just watched a video where the owner of a new 24 plate 1300GS (now 10 months old with 9k Miles) was offered £8000 less than he bought it for by his local dealer.
Yes folks £8000 depreciation in 10 months.
I'm sure I read somewhere the VAT loss as you ride from the showroom is a falasy? You lose 20% straight away with the VAT paid. Even on a boggo standard one he'd loose just over 3K to VAT.
And he's far over the average mileage of 4k - which probably impacts to the tune of £100 per 1K miles over.
So there's 3.5K accounted for before market conditions of a down market are taken into consideration.
And therein lies some of the bullshit .You lose 20% straight away with the VAT paid. Even on a boggo standard one he'd loose just over 3K to VAT.

Who says the average mileage is 4 k ?
I’ve heard that many dealers use this as an a yearly average. And no doubt linked to restraints on mileage attached to the PCP.Who says the average mileage is 4 k ?
That’s me knackered then. The wing is 4 years old and 31k.I’ve heard that many dealers use this as an a yearly average. And no doubt linked to restraints on mileage attached to the PCP.
Come and ride an UberWankPanzer.Only £500 per month and you can do 350 miles per month with no restrictions.
The slippery slope for big bike sales has begun.Muppets.

But PCP is there to attract people who can’t afford to buy one, so they rent it instead.I like the fact its stupid expensive. It will reduce the Round the world Costa tossers. I bought my R1300GSA cash. But I hope the PCP deals are stupid money too.
Less GS Twats on the road.

They are.But I hope the PCP deals are stupid money too.

Just thought, another way of looking at is that after the original purchase price of my 1250 plus the three years on PCP on a new bike I would have suffered a twenty three thousand pound loss in six years. (Or, I would have hired a bike for 6 years costing 23k)If I handed the bike back at the end of the term rather than pay the balloon payment i`d be left with precisely fuck all and no motorcycle!!
