Wankpanzer Oder Uberwankpanzer ?

So If you take out a pcp for a £20,000 bike and hand it back after 3 yrs you've nothing to show for it after all those payments and the deposit but if you'd purchased outright for £20,000 and wanted to p/x 3 years later wouldn't the depreciation be comparable to the payments and the deposit ?
Same difference in my mind but you could have had the £20,000 in a bond or high interest account.
Plus if you wanted to try a Ducati for instance you don't have to consider p/x and may get a better deal.

Seems to me some of you are more wrapped up with others finances, honestly this is becoming a site for W----rs ..
You mean tossers? :spl1f: Ref the rest....Just look at the title of this thread, some chaps are obsessed with peoples choice of bike, finance, clothing etc, bizarre. Mind your f@cking business spring to mind. Do any one cares how many times one changes cars, bikes, wife, girlfriend, moving country or finance arrangements?
Personally not really.

Personally no really.
You've just described "Soaps" and they are very popular, Corrie has been going for over 50 or so years, And Deirdre Barlow had loads of husbands, Cars, and Baps from Roys Rolls.

The Archers is not that bad, I can just about tolerate it. But I put down my foot at the Archer podcast. Wife is digging that big time. Calls it escapism ...that what biking is for me ;)

I christened the title Wankpanzer which I’m rather proud of. I’ve even seen it used in a magazine.Seems quite apt, given your half rant .
I’m not obsessed with people’s choice of bike but started this thread because I thought Chopsie and his bro in law did a good comparison review, which some on here may find interesting . Obviously there will always be others who miss the point entirely . Congrats.🥳 😜

Seems to me some of you are more wrapped up with others finances than riding your own bikes

yes i have a pcp on one of my bikes and i could afford to buy it outright , honestly this is becoming a site for W----rs ..

I'm curious, and I'm also a Wanker so why not indulge me?

If you could afford to buy your bike outright, what fiscal benefit have you experienced by using PCP instead ??

I'd wager that over half the people you see driving around in flash motors and riding expensive motorcycles can't actually afford them.

The manufacturers knew this, which is why they invented the PCP schemes to keep sales moving.

They have hoodwinked us all by making the finance 'affordable' on a monthly basis without ever fully owning the vehicle, then raised the selling prices off the back of it. Couple that with a deliberate devaluing of end-of-term machines to promote the buyer into entering a new deal rather than finding the cash to complete the transaction and you end up where we are now. A glut of unsold used stock and an overpriced new model that few have the capital now to spend on.

Dealers are going to struggle.
👍

A little off topic but the latest Harrys Garage vid, a feel, rings true somewhat with the latest bikes generation of £20k+ bikes. Prices have been pushed up due to manufacturers developing stuff that isn't really needed/wanted by the user. Bikes loaded with gizmos that are used once in a blue moon, when all the average rider is after is the enthusiasts buzz of being on the road and the escapism it brings.

My thoughts are a £3-4k 14 year old GS probably delivers the emotional high just as much the £27k one.

Disagree,
I want the most expensive, Fully loaded, Tech full bike I can find. Since 1999 that has been the GS. I'm currently finalising my Scottish white, Ineos Quartermaster, with Trial Pack. Stupid money, But you don't see many on the roads because of that. Hopefully, the GS will now go the same way?

Always going to be someone who wants the latest and greatest and if you can, want to, and get what you want from it then why not :) ... Plus, without those people there isn't the stock for the likes of me/others to benefit from someone taking the depreciation hit in a few years time (y)

What is the flat bed for? Carry the hay? :green gri Seen one the other day in High Street Kensington, all black, black windows, zombie apocalypse kit - spare jerrycans, step ladder, shower kit or some sort of bollocks, snorkel, all sorts of shit hanging off. Looked f. cool :spl1f:

There was a time when BM was a gentleman's bike. Even 38 years ago was expensive vis a vi other brands, well Ducati was never cheap.
Looking at the Multistrada V2 touring is almost the same price as a GS. New engine V2 out now, will make the next generation Multi V2 probably more expensive than the GS. But it will be lighter even if it has 30bhp less. Apparently there will be an sport touring version like the ST? I believe that when I see it.

The 1300 is the first GS that I feel is a real let down - so after almost 20 years and 6 GSes in a row I will be forced to find something different.

You’re the 3rd person recently who has said that.
2 mates have tried them and wasn’t impressed
