Love the look of the GSA but at 5'11 and 30inch inside seam I am too short to get my feet down ... which I want to do ...
I have sat on and ridden a 1200GS 2010 model which I liked but "I want that one" (GSA)
I was a bit forlorn until I read on here about lowering kits ...

So has anyone got a lowered GSA within a 100 miles of Oxford that I could swing a leg over ?

You should be OK on a GSA with the GS low seat. Ask your dealer for a test ride on that basis - they'll normally dig out a seat for you. I use a standard GS seat on a GSA with a 32" leg without issue.

You dont need your feet down, just a foot down.
I am shorter than you and have a 29" inside leg and ride a GSA no worries.
Stop being a fanny.

:D

Cheers for that ... but I have a really dodgy left knee :rob which is non weight bearing ... 2 feet on tarmac is required for this fanny:thumb

Get the GSA and go for a low seat and you'll be fine. Maybe a low sargeant of somthing :)

if only you posted this a week earlier one might have helped you

Will my sister do..? :D

Did someone say leg over?? :augie

Assume gmangtr you went to North Oxford BMW? Good bunch of guys down there, when Steve was there he let me try GSA seat on GS, as I am 6ft5, I can flat foot the GSA :D

Sure if you speak to them they will let you try seat / height combinations

Im roughly the same in the height/leg department (aka 'short arse') and can get both feet down with ease on a GSA with low GS seat fitted :thumb2

I'm just about the same size as you, possibly a bit shorter and bought a brand new GS in June 2008 because a couple of months earlier I'd test ridden both versions and been daunted by the height of the GSA. June 2009 I had a GSA loaner for a day while mine was in for service and realised there was almost no difference if I fitted my standard (not low) Sargent seat....December 2009 I traded GS for GSA.

The only time I feel too far from the floor is if the ESA is set for pillion and SWMBO hasn't climbed on yet, and even then I have the ball of both feet on the floor. With it adjusted for rider only both feet are pretty much flat on the floor.

End result was that I finished up with what I should have bought in the first place but paid for it in instalments!

Agree with tonedef, I was on a friends GSA last week it has a standard sargent seat set on low it felt no higher than my standard gs.
29" inside leg for me.

Steve

I bought a 08 GSA from a fella who was 5'6" and he had the low seat and didn't have any problems. Had to keep the ESA on comfort setting though:augie
I've now fitted the standard seat so if anyones looking a low seat?:aidan

I have a 2010GSA with a lower sergeant seat , That will be at oxford for its 6000mile Service 8am on the 28th of this month, and will be heading back home to France after “Assen the long way round” At 5.30pm . Should you wish to throw a good leg over it

I take you up on that !!

I'm 5' 9" with a 30" inside leg. I ride a GSA and put on a Touratech "Kahedo" Low Seat. I had the cover on the stock seat removed and put onto the Touratech seat by a local guy and it looks OK.

Have to say its bang on and being able to get both feet almost flat has saved me from dropping my GSA on at least two occasions - one almost very nasty one about 3 weeks ago.

Check out the Touratech site, they are on there and they are really comfy aswell.

Blimey - pity I did not know this last week... have a touratech Kahedo seat (used for a week by my mate) that I could have brought with for minimal cash .... :blast

Bummer! Have to admit they ain't overly cheap - but they do the job and I find them really comfy (done some long stints, too).
