Hi Wapster.

Right, I want the best routes available to humanity that link these destinations. Then find and book perfect hotels in idyllic spots en-route that have good access for wild swimming for Mrs S. Subsequently, source and reserve tables at the best restaurants in all overnight locations. I would like this done by next Wednesday ideally. Oh, and get us a cheap tunnel crossing booked as well cheers. And for Gods sake, try and get this done without the usual sardonic whining about finding bloody maps and doing it myself - so dull. Ta.

Joking aside, my route is roughly as per the green highlighter on the map below.



And my overnight stops are:

Ay near Epernay
Vic-Sur-Seilles west of Nancy
Cernay near Mulehouse
Somewhere near good swimming spots in the Black Forest
Baden Baden
Somewhere between Koblenz and Trier

The two somewhere locations are places I have never been before so any recommendations of nice restaurants, nice hotels, must ride roads, places to see or even wild swimming spots greatly appreciated.

And yes, I appreciate I can fucking google it all and use trip advisor reviews but I would rather start with positive experiences from like minded travellers. Cheers in advance for any assistance.

I'll open the bidding with the Holiday Inn Express Baden Baden its really good for the price, and don't bother with the B500 can't see from the pic if you're going on it or not.

for the first (or last ) stop close to Reims in Champagne can recommend this place. Hotel is pretty basic but the food is amazing. Taking the Mrs there in a few weeks time for a long weekend. Its a ''Table Distiguee'' on the Logis website!

I found a brilliant place in Baden-Baden, centrally located, free parking for bikes, lovely staff and excellent breakfasts. Let me see if I can find it for you.

When i went I thought it was awful absolutely zero character and full of Chinese folk at breakfast!

Yes it is. It’s very good. There are barcodes for each route that give you a GPX track for them. Very nice feature. Am linking bits of a few of these on this trip.

This Hotel in BLACK FOREST has a lake, not sure if swimming is permitted though. But is a great hotel, having stayed there in 2019.
