Hi guys, been having trouble starting the bike lately. If i dont use the bike every day then theres not enough to start it. Im still looking into this but now I have a warning light staying on ( a red triangle with exclamtion mark) is this to do with the low battery state and is it ok to run wih it lit? Thanks

dunno about the light (where is it?), could be the battery is knackered, give it a charge, leave it for a few hours and see if it reads at least 12.7v? otherwise find some web sites that explain the ratio of battery life / standing voltage. The cold weather will reduce the charge a bit, are all your accessories / lights switched off before you start?

Its a 1150 adv mate so the lights come on with the ignition. Its had a new battery and ive had the starter apart and it looks like new. No other accesories on it. I havnt checked the charging voltage yet so may be duff alternator, but really needed to know what this warning light is and if its related. Its on the dash with the other warning lights :D

Dohhh just searched and I did get one with the bike. It was the brake light too :D First bike ive ever had that lets you know you got a duff brake light. Thanks all. :thumb

What if it stays on and your brake light works perfectly.

Mine stays lit up yet the brake bulb has been changed and works properly off front and rear levers.

Anything else that can cause it to light up.?

Could have always been a duff bulb you put back in.

Test the voltage over the terminals. Could be a break in the wire making the bike think it has a duff bulb.

The servo models have a safety feature. it shifts the brake light to the tail light filiment and vice versa. So everything looks normal when you check it.

Check the rear light and brake light filiments are both working.

Thanks Neil, all sorted now.

Changed bulb for the second time and all is ok. :thumb2
