My 05 has just come up with something strange. I was riding to the Cassington bike night on Monday, (if you have not been it is worth a visit but you have missed it for this year:)) when I found I was looking at the flashing break failure light, red triangle, Speedo stuck on zero, just as I was approaching a speed camera.

Shortly before this I had ridden through a heavy downpour that lasted about 10 minutes and just come around a low speed roundabout and was accelerating away from the exist of the roundabout.

Now my suspicion is that this is related to the rear ABS sensor, can anybody confirm if I am in the right area?

The bike is due a service next month and is still covered under warranty so if this is significant I will get it check or is this a computer glitch.

Trevor,
no speedo coupled with dodgy ABS operation or warnings are usually a sign of a build up of metal wear particles on the rear wheel speed sensor which sits inside the final drive unit. Simply unbolt with a Torx socket, remove and wipe clean, inspect the O ring seal and refit.

tis true :thumb2

Mine was coupled to St Vitus' dance of the speedo needle, or it sitting on zero, with flashing red traingel of death and a message that my brakes would not work (but they did).

Complete new rear end from BuMW under warranty. Oh happy day, oh happy dayeeee.

Thanks for the response, I will check the sensors tonight and see what it looks like.
