Morning

Have an 07 1200 GSA covered 22k. Bought 2nd hand from Coopers in Tunbridge Wells in November. All was going well until i had the tyres changed recently and the guy advised me that the front wheel was slightly buckled. I am a but miffed as a bike that is designed to be riddn offroad can have this problem. I do a lot of miles but all of these are road miles and i have not ridden into anything.

I guess what i really want to know is if this is covered under the warranty from the dealership. I don't really want to take the bike down there without any advice from you guys to see if i am wasting my time.

Has anybody else had this problem?

Advice appreciated

You wouldn't be the first complainant regarding GSA spoked wheels, there have been reports from people getting replacement rear spoked wheels under warranty only to find the replacement is buckled as supplied from the factory. Maybe a thread search may shed some light on the matter?

The way the spokes are laced into the rims makes it difficult to true the wheels by adjusting spoke tension and some wheel builders don 't touch BMW spoked rims.

If you have a warranty and aren't happy with your wheels, speak to your dealer about the issue. What do you have to lose.:nenau

Edit:Try here for starters

There's also this really amazing modern device that might help, it's called the telephone. If you press the right combination of numbers, you might even get through to someone at a BMW dealership that might know the answer to your warranty worries.

There's a difference between the wheel being buckled and it being out of true. I'd have thought if it was that bad you'd have noticed it through the steering? and I'm pressuming here that this is not the first front tyre the bike has had replaced? Was the tyre fitter not able to balance the wheel up?
