Subject: Insured warranty bike
Good morning.
I have received an invite letter for renewal of my insured warranty.
Could you confirm whether to keep the insured warranty valid you need to have the motorcycle serviced at a BMW main dealer within the network, or could it be service by an independent but using BMW parts where applicable.
The policy documents quotes -
1. a) Care of the Vehicle - You must
keep Your Vehicle in an efficient and
road worthy condition and regularly
service it in accordance with the
Manufacturer’s recommendations and
genuine parts, or parts of equivalent
specification must be used.
So does this mean I could service myself as long as I used genuine BMW parts and keep the insured warranty valid?
I look forward to hearing from you.

email in today from BMW
Good Morning,
Thank you for your email and please accept my apologies for the delayed response.
The service needs to be kept up to date and carried out by a VAT registered garage using genuine BMW Parts, it doesn’t have to be done by a BMW main dealer.
Yours Sincerely
Jade Collender
