Hi Guy's
got a strange problem with my RID unit. The time has stopped at 19.01 & oil temp & fuel are "locked" showing the same nr of bars even with the ignition off, gear indicator is showing 6 continuously.

Any takers??

cheers,

well...

when i fitted my 50w HID`S if the black box got too close to the back of the RID, it would go funny. Resite the box/lead away from the RID. Then pull the fuse to the RID then refit. Should not have done any lasting damage.

many thanks,

It could be either as I've mounted the ballasts behind the clock shroud, will try Nick's suggestion first as it's easiest!!!

big thanks to all,
I'll try it on the weekend and let you know!!

HIDs tend to affect the electronics in the RID (Rider Information Display), just the LCD panel. The indicator dash lamp is just an ordinary lamp. Maybe it got dislodged from its holder/knocked and the lamp gave up?

Hmm

My RH indicator signal on the RID has stopped after fitting HIDs

Pulled fuse 3 - next idea??

(Indicator works - just not on RID)

You do know what the RID is (rider information display) it has a clock an oil temp gauge with oil over heat warning light, the fuel gauge and gear indicator. that is all.

Your indicator warning lights are located on the telltale warning panel.

It helps if you know these things to avoid confusion.:nenau

My IRD played up after fitting a HID.
I mounted the ballast under the oil-cooler but it still affected it on a regular basis and pulling the fuse was the only solution. When I removed the HID a few years later (ballast was playing up) the problem went away.
