We made our annual ride north last week and true to form the rain and wind appeared for the whole trip
We're getting used to it now so if you are planning a trip drop me a pm just to check we aren't planning on being there at the same time
Only did about 1000miles me on my GS 12, linzi on her 650GS, prefer taking our time, stopping for coffee and enjoying nice hotels to crunching miles just for the sake of it.
I'll add a write up later but here's my first go at using triptracker, clever site where you can browse images and view a googlemap or download the gps track file
not sure if this will embed<script type="text/javascript" src="http://triptracker.net/trip/4037/embmap/?w=800&h=620&title=Touring%20the%20West%20Coast%20by%20BMW%2012GS%20and%20650GS">
</script>

First night was spent at the Calgary Hotel on Mull, second the Bosville in Portreee, 3rd Royal Hotel Ullapool and last Lime Tree Fort William, all were good but not the cheapest around.
We used the Calmac Hopscotch Rover ticket http://www.calmac.co.uk/hopscotch_route7 and the Kyle Rhea/Glenelg ferry to get off Skye.
