Westcountry Wander.

Rode down the proper way yesterday, no motorways, barely any dual carriageway, as much scenery as possible. Route notes kept me right and my aerostitch with the vents open was lovely.

I purposely wanted the lower Dart ferry.





Overlooking the inner harbour at Dartmouth. No, I didn't get a shot of the College.




Dartmouth through tight lanes to the tidal road at Aveton Gifford.




More tight, slippery because they are still wet and muddy, lanes for a chance to cast a line....weeded out though.




Tried a surface lure in an attempt to beat the weed. It didn't work.



After what is usually the best of the tide I headed for some touristy bits....more scrabble lanes!

Tomorrow I head through Cornwall to Camborne. A friend's funeral to attend, which is the reason for the trip. I shall add another 3 ferries to the itinerary - far more fun than tooling down a main road.
I shall report back. Probably sleeping in a hedge after the do. I hope it doesn't rain!

On we go, heading for the Torpoint ferry I went past the anchor from the 1970s Ark Royal.



Ferry number two.




Bendy Cornish roads along the coast, leafy lanes.




This hairpin we used to go down a cliff path to the beach below.



Through Looe, over the old bridge and onwards to Bodinnick.




Giles took that one!



Ferry number 3. Bodinnick Ferry to Fowey.



Down through more leafy, swoopy, hilly lanes to the St Just in Roseland Peninsular



Stopped for a quick bite just before the King Harry Ferry. Old Rosie cider and a ham & cheese toastie.



Next up quick change in readiness for Kev's funeral. Then after the send off beetle home in a oner. Going to be a late finish. 6 or 7 hour ride home and they have forecast thunderstorms. We Cornish are made of stern stuff though!
