Wet Crotch

Ok, so today’s ride from south Normandy to Pas de Calais in continuous rain left me with a wet crotch……AGAIN! No, I didn’t pee myself but I find even with the expensive suits it never really keeps dry. Even my old Rukka Armas ( Armageddon) suit I ended up with a wet crotch and even with my top of the range RevIt waterproof troos it’s never 100% dry.
Anyone got any tips?
Rest of me was fine with my Rukka goretex suit and with my lightweight Decathlon padded shell jacket it was nice and toasty despite only 14 degrees and continuous rain for 6 hours…
I know mentioned often on here, but the Scott Ergonomic Pro are the only ones for me in this situation. It’s because you can pull them up high I guess. Even Aerostitch have have leaked on me.
PS. I wonder if woman get their jollies in this situation?? I certainly don’t 😬

My first proper suit a Dainese carve master was goretex and first time out in it was in heavy rain and very quickly got a wet crotch, got the supplier to swap them and no more wet crotch! My present suit a Klim Kodiac doesn’t let a drop in (as you would expect at that price point) also got a wind rider cover more for comfort and to combat sweaty bollocks in the summer which it does very well.

Irrespective of our suit choice , when the weather is particulary wet and cold for many years I've used the BMW rain lock two piece suit, never lets in and in a cold day it can make the journey more pleasant.......

I've often found where drop liners are concerned that even zipping the jacket to the trousers, often the jacket drop liners are tailored short so when the jacket wets out (had this on my RST gear), water migrates down the inside of the trousers after soaking through the lower part of the jacket.
The initials RST have been sometimes known to stand for ‘Rain Soaks Through’ :D

i have the scott ergo trousers and jacket, the jacket is really good the trousers are pants, no pun intended leaked from day one

I have touched on this before, but it's one of two things that's happened.

1. The crotch has failed (most common area as you lift your leg to get over the bike and stretch the liner)

2. Gore-Tex can be reversed and if you've got a hot ass ( ;) ) then you'll boil water and it'll come through the liner the wrong way, you may need to stand up every now and then to cool the area down on longer journeys.

It's most likely number 1 but just in case, check on number 2.

Kind Regards
Jamie
