Location
where the berry is king
BMW nav V using basecamp. I plot a route from home Aviemore home click on the roads to display the route, add way points, save and then send to device-memory card. Start route only for the device to keep sending me back to my start point.

No doubt it will be blindingly obvious to some so can someone point me in the right direction??

Help will be appreciated :thumb2:thumb2

are you already at the begining of the route or a little way from it if the latter it will send you to the start of the route, and from there carry on, you may have the start a little way off from where you actually are starting from, eg like 30 or 40 yards from your house or base.
A little bit more info may be usefull,

When you start the route the Nav V will offer you a list of waypoints, from this list it wants you to select one usually the first (not the Start) I am assuming your route has a few waypoints plus the start and destination waypoint?

In this case select the first waypoint after the start. I am guessing your selecting the start the device is directing you back because its a waypoint you have to ride over it to then be directed to the next one.
If you select the first waypoint after the start the Nav V ignores the start waypoint and directs you along your route.
Word of warning here don't select the destination if you have multiple waypoints in your route the device will take you to the destination as it sees fit calculation mode i.e. faster time and will completely ignore your route

Now If your route is built from shaping points with only two waypoints a start and finish select the destination/finish and you will be guided along your route.
Make sure you are quite near the start of the route over 500 mtrs away from it and it will ignore your route and take you to the destination its own way.

Or use the skip function to skip the waypoint then you should get directed along your route.:thumb2

I am some 800 yards away from home when I selected the route?

Thanks this seems like the obvious thing i could be doing wrong, I'll give this a try maybe tomorrow or Monday and report back.

Thanks for you help guys:thumb2:thumb2

if you are that far from the begining of the route it will ask you to navigate to the start, just select yes and carry on the route. if you do not wish to go to the start, do as Jersey GS has said.

Thanks gives me a second option to try!
