What am I doing wrong ?

Bought a 2610 from GPSW and I've now loaded the necessary maps on it for the UK and Ireland. However, I can't seem to get anything but the United States. I've even gone out and sat in the car to pick up satalite coverage, but the unit doesn't seem to do anything. OK, I know I haven't much of a clue about this technology, but I'm kinda frustrated that I can't get the bloody thing to work.


Any ideas ?

Lots, Davey........lots. Let's start with a relevant one. I've never used a 2610 but I suspect that in common with the other Garmins I've used, there'll be a "New Location" option for locating satellites. Find the Tab for that. Go outside with the unit and leave it find the satellites.

If you've been trying in the car, the Suzuki doesn't have a heat reflective windscreen like those Renault ones, does it. They can block satellite reception.
