Altberg Roadrunners for day to day and a pair of BMW Dry Sneakers, which are nice and comfy on and off the bike.

I liked those but when I tried them on in the shop the plastic tag on the heel broke so I put them back on the shelf

I used to wear my daytona boots all day every day, being as the the old bill provided them for work and they are fantastic, but a few years ago treated myself to a pair of tech 10's for green laning etc, rode to work with them on (first day) and car pulled out of a side road into the side of the bike and my boots, destroyed his bumper and I walked away with no injury, haven put any other boots on since, I would have had a mangled leg wearing the daytona's. Paranoid? yep u betcha

4 years on, A perfect mix of comfy and protecty (both weather elements and falling-off stuff) that I've never experienced before.

You need earplugs for the 'Sidi-squeak' tho!

Dubbin rub it in everywhere especially behind the straps and articulated ankle bit, use a cotton bud if necessary, works for months on mine.

Alpinestars Ridge WP

I've always used the Alpinestars Ridge WP boots. They're comfy, waterproof, warm, easy on and off and fairly hard wearing. I think I've had this last pair for about 3 or 4 years now but getting ready for a new pair. I wear them daily and they're fairly inconspicuous so I can get away with them at work. I don't like the higher boots and ankle boots are too short, these are in the goldilocks zone for me so they're just right. And they're pretty good value IMO. Loads of vids on youtube if you're interested.

I have tried all sorts from WD40 to silicon grease. the squeak goes away for a few hours and then its back

I like to tell people it is character

The squeak in my case was, and still is at least 120 decibels and was most pronounced walking around Oradour eliciting sniggers and tuts in equal measure at easily the noisiest thing there.
