Get yourself a piece of Dural and an 1150 caliper. Makes a big difference :thumb2

Thanks Rob ,but dont think i am up to such surgery , With leading links i have no idea what to do .

Show us what you`ve got and we may be able to advise of a straight swap.

Or contact Harrison of Billet 6 fame and ask about bespoke calipers to replace whatever you have got.

Bear in mind it could also be a matter of disc replacement.

Also bear in mind that whatever you`ve got,it`s sure to be a fecking sight more powerful than the two 7" drums I`ve got on my Ural combos. :D :augie

Hi Rob,

Any tips of where to get a offcut piece of Dural?

Been looking on the net and can't find buggerall :D

Thanks

normal aluminium is fine

leading links,
made from steel, get new brackets welded on to accept the caliper of your choice?

Thanks Digger,

What is the recommended thickness of alu to support the caliper. Looks like about 10mm to me :nenau Again I am sorry for the questions but where is the best place to shop for a piece of aluminium. I have no idea where to get these things :blast :D

I wouldnt fancy a piece of ally -- too soft for my liking.

I made mine out of 10mm thick Dural that I picked up at the Staffordshire show. The calipers a Tokico item badged as BMW. If you use one of these you will need two 7.8mm spacers between the bracket and the caliper, this just happens to be the thickness of the nuts sold at our nut and bolt supplier.

I sent the template through to Shep who was going to look at cutting one out on his machines. I'm sure if you bung him a few quid he'll make another.

The nice thing with the Tokico caliper is you can use you original brake pipe and the pads come straight from BMW/Motorworks/Motobins with the rest of your service items.
