Well lads. One or two of you might be interested in what I've been up to since I sold the GS and bought the Africa Twin.

When I bought it.

Now.

The original Panels and tank are still there. I just decided that the bike was to clean to have fun on so I got the spare set, but as they where from a few different bikes I had to paint them up and decided on the repsol colours.

Originals are all in storage so they don't get damaged so the bike is still all it was and will remain that way now that it's original stuff is safe.

A few more pics now that they have uploaded.

The thing to remember with this is the bike can be returned to its spotless original state in less then 45 minutes.

I know these colours won't be everyones cup of tea but I always loved Dakar bikes with their briight colours. Dakar is the stuff of dreams along side WRC rallying to me so thats why I decided on the repsol colours.

Would I have to notify them as the main colour on the bike is still black as far as I can make out. How would you classify the colour now and the change back would have to be notified to. Would I have to change the colour on the log book then.

I did the repsol bigger as I wanted to bring the orange all the way up the tank so as it wouldn't look off I had to get the repsol decals done larger then the example you have posted John.

As far as the @ vs the GS is concerned I liked them both. The GS had more grunt been an 1150 but the @ is just as much fun to drive even on motor way runs and can be flicked around that bit easier. I really like it. Cann't see myself selling her in the future if I don't have to but I will return to a GS as soon as I can afford a R1200 GSA.

To be honest I really don't know Eric,:nenau

But if it was involved in a bank robbery I don't think any witness would describe it as a black motorcycle.:blast

Looked into the insurance and they don't care what colour it is.

I was told however that the log book stating that the bike is black might be but if I play dum and can swoop it back which I can that there shouldn't be an issue.

Otherwise when I do but the originals back on it would have to change again.

I like it.

Stay with that standard screen, I put a taller one on my @ a few years ago and it ruined the looks, IMHO.
