I'm just wondering if you use a different grade of oil... do you have to use a different filter :nenau :)

Of course you do....it`s like when you go up in the mountains and have to fit a less restrictive air filter to let the thinner air through.

And using softer air in your tyres when going offroad

Do you sell soft air filters then, and what part number are they.

More to the point.....what BRAND are they...???

do you sell sparks for my plugs? as there running a bit low and need topping up.
Wesley or John? I can't believe you are contemplating fitting none genuine sparks to your plugs. It's no wonder people here complain of surging due to incorrect combustion. If your going to go to all the trouble of fitting new sparks at least do it properly and fit genuine blue BMW ones.

wesley 1st, then john is in the middle

i would have gone with the genuine BMW ones, but they only sell the buy the 200,000 and i only need 120,000 so did not want to waste the others.

No need to waste them.Wait for christmas and then sprinkle them over the tree.Real purdey. :thumb

Ooh, and do you sell rubber for tyres too? My tyres are brand new but have lots of deep cracks in 'em that need filling in.

If you do sell it, what rubber brand do you supply, and can I mix rubber brands on the same tyre? I want to make sure my rubber is safe, you can't be too careful these days...

:P

120,000 of them  at 5,000 RPM that would only keep you going for 24 minutes. Or do you meant the ones that have the inbuilt spark bypass that activates 'Spark saving mode'(TM) at engine speeds above 4,500RPM?

1st i didn't say how many i had got, just how many i wanted to top up.
2nd your maths are out and you engine know how.

a 4 stroke engine only has 1 combustion stroke per 4 reverloutions.
this is a twin with four plugs
'Spark saving mode'(TM) i do have this but i do not know at what rev's it kicks in. as all twin spark models do.
but on the 120,000 you worked it on, with out the 'Spark saving mode'(TM)
5000rpm / 4 = 1250 combustion strokes a min
1250 x 4 = 5000 number of sparks for the four plugs
dam your right just by luck :nenau

A four stroke has one combustion stroke per two revolutions. Suck, Squeeze (revolution 1) Bang, Blow (revolution 2) Therefore 5000 RPM = 2500 combustion strokes per minute per cylinder.

Just out of interest, which car filters fit the R1200GS?

There may be a saving to be had? :)

No car would fit the size of filter fitted to the 1200.

It must have all of 1 Sq ft of filtration surface  It's tiny, half the size of the 1100/1150/K series oil filters .
