A bike I bought has a set of pannier racks fitted.

The problem is, I don't know what make they are.

Please, does anyone recognise these and if so, could you tell me the make/model?

Thanks in advance,

Could be original BM/Krauser pannier frames, the four holes should have Dzuss fasteners in them if I'm right.

Standing by and expecting incomming missiles. :D

Thanks Noddy -

I know that the original mono was unusual because it came with just one pannier, but maybe a 2-pannier frame was developed later???

I'll check the holes.

Hmmm no Dzuss fasteners so not sure where that leaves us...

I'll ask a mod whether this can be transferred to the airheaders.

Looks identical to the Krauser type of rack fitted to my 1979 RT - don't quite know where Dzus fasteners come into it, though ?
It is a good idea to drill through the back of the pannier & utilise those holes in the bracket to fix an alloy "mushroom" & an "R" clip as a belt & braces measure - otherwise the panniers are only held on by the locking tab, which is none too secure; DAMHIK, but they can come adrift at speed.

I suspect we are talking about the same thing Martyn .

Stock BM pannier racks for a mono, no strut between the pannier frames, the holes don't use dzus fasteners :thumb

Aha!

It looks like the mystery is history.

Thanks Thunder, you win the lollipop, and also everyone else for your valuable contributions.

Cheers, :beerjug:
