What tyres?

.....just got back from Bexhill on sea......with my new Tourance's- they are now very nice.......scrubbed in and ready to rock n roll on the infamous Captn's loop....monkey-try some Metzelers-if you haven't before......
Top tip :thumb2

3000miles through Europe, fully loaded. Rain, sun, ice on the passes, the full bifta and they never gave cause for concern once.

On the twisties I was scraping bits and bobs and the tyres were spot on.

Rear tread depth down from 9mm to 5.5mm over the distance - so used about 3.5mm of the 7mm usable depth, which should give me a rear tyre life in excess of 6k miles, which is unheard of for me.

I'll be sticking with the Tourances for a few sets :D

....if your not going off road, then suggest Dunlop ROADSMARTS.

....Awesome dry/wet grip and better & cheaper than PR2.

...Wear rate is looking just as good as PR2.

hi Al,

this months Motorrad (german bike mag),

have just done a test of all the the tyres for the GS ,

1st continental trail attack
2nd dunlop trailmax
3rd avon distanzia

hope this is of hope

mike

I didn't think there was much wrong with the Anakees, until I switched to Avon Azaro/Storm - will never change back now due to the significant improvements in grip, feel and confidence

Can you get a dual compound tyre in GS sizes? In my 3000 miles on the OE bridgestones (mainly two up and with luggage) the rear is squaring quite badly. Not interested in off road, just grip and delayed squaring off
