What would you pay for a 1150 SE?

So you think that an SE bought for £9000 now will be worth the same or more in 5 years time?

Maybe or the ones that some have paid £6k for, will be worth £9k in 5 years

Looking on AdvRider and European forums, the 1150GSA is held in very high regard with the 1150GSA SE being the top of the tree and highly desireable - always achieving 'over book' prices all around the world

Main reason is, they are really nice bikes to ride and own - with a solid feel to them

No it hasn't.

I'm talking about a £9k SE still being worth £9k+ in 5 years time, not past values.

Alright then to keep you happy, they'll be worth fuck all:thumb

However.....

How many SE versions of the R1150GS did BMW manufacture? Exactly how exclusive is it?

However.....

I think it's sour grapes Timmy...
He had one and sold it on !!

Same as his Basic and 80g/s DAKAR :augie:augie:augie..
Me, I just keep them :rob:D

1000 SE's total were supposed to be made, for all areas..
I think slightly less was final figure...
100 for UK... Euroland didn't get enough, thats why I think this one will be back over the channel this weekend :thumb

Happy to be corrected ...

... but I think the UK was allocated 100; Ocean decreased that by one by spraying one of them black for its new owner :blast

No not at all, I did like the 1150's and the SE however I went off it. The bike was too big and heavy for what I wanted and I very quickly went off the white & blue colour scheme.

Basic, nope don't regret that. Made a few quid, bought a minty RT and a holiday for two in New York.

PD, nope although if I could have one of the three back it would be this one.

As for 'just keeping them', well I don't see the point. I buy a bike to ride it and when I want a change a sell it and buy another.

why not keep it? I am looking for an SE to 'keep' while I ride my beloved silver 1150GSA everywhere and 'keep' that too.... :)
Nowt to do with no-one except me and my feckin wallet.
Thoughts anyone?:)

Only three imported by BMW in Ireland. They were also cheaper than similar silver or black ones at the same time by two hundred euro. Mine was delivered to me and registered on my wedding anniversary :D:D:D

Perhaps the person has paid £9000 because he wanted as near new as possible R1150GS, to use.

And seeing as they haven't made any since 2005 he doesn't have much choice but to buy the best possible example as he can.

Anyway, he wasn't bidding against himself. A few others must have valued it almost as much for the bidding to reach as high as it did.

How much was a new basic in 1996 ? And how much do they sell for now, 16 years later.......

Which is what I did, the best possible bike in the best possible condition.... 1k miles and registered 2006:thumb

Well I guess we will just have to wait for 2017 and see what the market price for an SE is. My bet is that it will be slightly above all the other 1150 GSA's at around £6000.
