What would you pay for a 1150 SE?

Basic, nope don't regret that. Made a few quid, bought a minty RT and a holiday for two in New York.

Should've kept it another year, you could've afforded a fortnight in New Zealand and bought as man's bike:thumb

Yup Trippy

and by that time if he has any sense He will have had more than £3000 worth of use and enjoyment out of it and kept it tidy and in good nick.:thumb2

You lot just don't get it, do you ???

1st. They don't make 'em anymore.
2nd. They were a bit of a cult bike from day 1.{ Must be, because both Timmy and James have one :cool:}
3rd. They only made a few [ compared to all other GSA 1150's]
4th. It's why an 80g/s with a Dakar kit fitted on original delivery is worth loads more than a standard 80g/s. fitted with a Dakar kit later in life...{ V5 on Dealer fitted ones will be R80g/s DAKAR }
5th. In 5 years time it will still be a rare and desired 1150 GSA because of 1st reason....

HTH :thumb2:rob

If I still had one I'd be getting rid now.
It won't last.

They said that about the old GS basic back in 2001 when they were selling for £2.5k and the first G/S could be had for £1200 . :comfort

We'll see.
Just out of interest as a previous owner of an SE which if i remember rightly I paid £6k in as new condition back in the day … what are they selling for today then? I’d be super surprised to hear they have made the money like a PD or Basic did as some predicted.

Had one of each and if I could have one back it would be the PD every day of the week.

It goes up in value !
Does it, by much?
I found this SE thread when I searched my name and basic as was looking for an old one about my bike. I then saw my post where I cast doubt on one other ‘experts’ prediction that they were the new basic or PD and prices would shoot up making them a great investment.

Having had the quickest of looks it would appear I may have been right and my £6k SE back then wouldn’t have gained value to the same extent as the other two or even my watch come to that.
