you do with these new fangled BMW`s to turn the main beam off when you ride. Something like hold indicator on for 5 secs then cancel!? i forgot...

5 seconds on Cancel, then 5 seconds on right indicator.
Use headlight flash or turn on main beam to turn the headlight back on again.

Sometimes you need to turn off the headlight - approaching a guarded army base, for example, or riding onto the Channel Tunnel.

I used to do it for a bit when my battery was sounding a bit flat - felt as if it was giving it chance to charge up a bit. Battery still died, so probably didn't do any good.
