I have recently picked up a GS and am really pleased with it and decided to wash and polish it, :eek: something must have not agreed with the wheels the spoke one's and they have gone all bitty no shine on them has anyone any solution on how to restore them to there pristine conditon:eek:

If it's an 11000 then it's likely they are not laquered. This means scotch bright then solvol autosol and mucho elbow grease. If it's an 1150 then the wheels are laquered and AFAIK there is no cure because water has got under the laquer and unless you get the laquer of it's impossible to get rid of.

Is it a new GS? I've just got a new '07 GS with spoked wheels. The rims are quite polished (laquered I guess?) and I just use non-abrasive car wax (Meguiars) on them. Just wondered if you've used an abrasive polish that has somehow damaged the laquer?:confused:
