Just hold on for a couple of months, by then you may have your insurance payout in your hands. There should be a lot more private bikes for sale.

There are a lot of bikes out there on finance and some people will be looking to lower their outgoings over the winter.

Your asking us to state figures as far as price drops go. How long is a piece of string:nenau

Look at this bike which sold a month ago on this site for the same money as your 04 bike, half the miles, just been serviced etc etc

I know your keen and we have all had that "must have bike" feeling but just hold off a wee bit:thumb it will pay off in the end

Fancy that... Norwich Union have settled and paying out today. :clap

Options for a private 1200 now open!

Dealer still hasn't rang back. Sod him.

I've never seen a 1200 go for less than 5k private.
What you mean is that you haven't seen one asking for less than £5k.

I'll bet good money that if you asked those that have sold, they'll still not tell you that they sold it for less!

Yep, I would'nt rush it, I bought an 05 last year from a dealer 5500 quid with wire wheels, ABS, Heated grips, and a years warranty, and I'm well pleased. I was looking for some time before I bought it. I did look at a bike at the Park Lane dealership but was'nt keen on the salesman. l Bought from South London Motorcycles who provided good after sales service, and and no complaints from me. Just take your time and don't rush it. There will always be loads of bikes out there.

5.5k is cheap!

I've been told BMW finance is now at 13% APR (it was 3.5% a couple yr back when I bought the 1150). That means £1,400 in interest over 3yrs and the dealer obviously wont absorb that.

Strange when Suzuki and Yamaha can offer 0% through blackhorse and it only costs them £400 over 2yrs (you can have either 0% or £400 quid cashback).

So at the moment I'm waiting (as many said I should) for the winter price drop.

Yep, that's a fact.

Sorry for the quick hijack, but Dean, I'll be in KL again the week after next. You up for a beer or two?

Hi Dave, a beer is always a good place to start. drop me a mail, deanmlewis at hotmail dot com
