Which Slip On Exhaust?

I've a very nice high level oval Micron in Titanium that will fit your bike, nearly new with collector pipe for £170 if yer interested. :thumb2

Hi sycomoto ! Just looking at micron delta+ end can for 06 R1200GS - wondering if its worth it for yhe noise improvement & if it'll fit with BM vario panniers ?

Nope. That's just the stock can with Remus headers, the cat is very restictive in the stock headers.

After hearing that I'm going to try my std can on the Remus headers & if it's that good my Remus Titanium is going up for sale to fund new panniers!

Fitted to an R rather than a GS but you get the idea. :D

I seriously like the look of that can but previous experience of a titanium Remus on my bike put me off it. Had it fitted for a week before I took it off as the drone when riding was bloody annoying.:spitfire

Hi Thunder

Just seen this thread.

Is this the exhaust you got rid of due to the drone? Sounds amazing in the clip.

nb -is it this one? :http://www.calsport.co.uk/Shop/Exha...0105-088104---Hexacone-Carbon-Road-Legal.html

Incidentally, has anyone got a video of a Remus Revolution can fitted to the R1200GS?

Can't seem to find any online at all.

Went for an Akropovic slip on. Same noise level as the OEM with the removable baffle in. With it out it's not unacceptabley loud, much deeper sound and burbles when you come down through the gears like a mean machine. Just a hint of more power but nothing to write home about. Power mid to upper is more responsive. Looks good to....:augie
Throttle response seems a little better with the Akropovic. It might be a little louder than stock . . . but not enough to make any difference. It does burble when you go down through the gears. Very cool!

I think you loose 8 pounds over the stock slip on with an Akropovic . . . and the Akropovic is covered by BMW warrantee.

Newbie question here but how easy (or not) is it to fit a a Hexacone type exhaust?

Is this something a layperson could do by following the instructions (assuming they come with some!) or would you ordinarily need to book your bike in to a dealer?

Very easy to fit using basic tools, no need to use a dealer.:thumb

at first I replaced the down pipes - very good, bicer "throatier" sound seemed to make more power in the mid range

next I fitted an Akro slip on - again slightly louder (baffle in) and with a lovely burble on the overrun - not sue there's any power gain

I have removed the baffle but think that it's too loud.

Looks are up to you but I think the Akro is slightly nicer than the Remus and I don't like the hexacone at all - right now ;let's sit back and see what THAT stirs up:handbag
