The thing is the 1150's are slowly fading away, so it wont be long now before one doesn't have the choice if one wants to stay with the GS brand.
Whereas the 1200 is corroding away quicker than the 1150.

the EWS ring antenna failed on one occasion and the only other failure was a fuel pump controller. As an aside, I usually ride for about 6000 miles each year (over 30000 miles so far) on these "test rides" and I've only ever had one puncture, but fixed loads for other folks.
Yes - a VERY predictable contribution - but my 2010 model is quicker than my 2008 model ...... so (my) personal experience doesn't bear out the first part of your statement.![]()
As for your other point I simply don't know.![]()

)...................before launching it and having to rush out a special tool................to shim the cams up correctly
Johnny....................etc said:Predictable.......................surely some mistake

Maybe after spending all that money.......................you're having to justify that the bike is spot on.......................to yourself and everyone else
Things have moved along in the 1200 world with the 2010 model........for the better of course![]()

110,000 fault free miles on 1200s is the only justification I need .............. to myself and everybody else.![]()

Johnnyboxer is right the last quality GS or probably any model made was the R1100GS

But please do post up a pic of your colonic sorry 'iconic' 1150Adv that normally materializes in this sort of thread. I've forgotten what it looks like.![]()

................Wilbjr and Tricky - no pics, you know what a quality bike looks like

Now, you know that was only if used in hard offroad conditions, to which the 1150 and 1200 GS have similar weaknesses with the chassis.........Show me a plastic tank from that era, that didn't lose its stickersWould that would be the one with the cracking gearbox case with exploding internals and porous petrol tank?![]()

I didn't see £13k guinea pig in any of the brochures![]()
It's called "development"![]()

Bad start to the morning... was seriously thinking about chopping in my 1150GSA for the 12...
How many threads are there now about flaming final drive failures..?
All I can think to myself when thinking about changing is NOOOOOOOO.
I worried about the FD on mine (etc), but I can't help but feel I should get back into a happy place with a different brand that I just dont have this type of apparantly extraordinarily show stopping poor quality issue.
Some of the sufferings a considerable number of fellow GSERS are experiencing just doesnt seem right and that's just the people on this forum...
Am I just a victim of forum doom and gloom, bad news travels faster than good etc??
