Why have a heated seat?

Heated seat and a REAL Cool Cover are a crap combination.
I had both on my Triumph and they worked very well together. The seat could get a bit hot if on full power without the cool cover. Why do you think they don’t work?

Why?

Cool Cover for the summer and remove it for Cooler months, like spring Autumn. Turn on the heated seat and avoid riding in the wet or wear GTX kit.

Don’t buy the cheap one from Ali express, it’s cheap for a reason. The genuine article is expensive but it is good, very good.
Yeah, I had that on my Multistrada and the one from AliExpress does exactly the same job.
Your money, your choice.

No don’t . They’re shite 😜
In your opinion.
I'm not paying £60 to put some cheap plastic on my seat to give a couple of mm clearance to let rain run out.

Quite a few people have tried the cheap copies . They don’t hold the weight like the genuine article and are much thinner . But if you want to spend a five figure sum on a bike and then garnish it with shite then fill yer boots . It’s a free country.
BTW , the Cool Cover is primarily designed to keep you cool in hot weather. There’s a clue in the name . It’s not designed as a rain dispenser 😜

Maybe I don't carry the weight as others do.
Ive had both and the Ali ones do the job I want them to.

I am hardly a Lardy Tosser at 12 stone. Even I have noticed the lack of weight support and the thing does become as flat as a pancake after one season, I had mine on the bike for two seasons and switched to a genuine article for this season, the difference is night and day.

Because I tried it on a BMW R1300GS Adventure and with the seat on its highest temperature I could hardly feel any heat.
Perhaps the Triumph seat gets hotter.

In 61 years on a bike I have never noticed having a cold ring. Puckered sometimes, but never cold and no farmers.
I have a heated seat on my 790 but cant bring myself to plug it in.
I have spent a shitload on having the original seat "adapted" for numb arse.

I think a lot depends on how much and how you use your bike. If you only do a couple of thousand miles in summer you don’t need it.
Im down to about 12k a year now but when I did more and used the bike all year the heated bits where on from October to April.
I remember being in Romania for 10 days the heating was on full for 5 days due to wet, cold, windy weather.
Very glad I had them .

There’s a lot that hardly ride their bikes. I have recently bought a 2022 R1250GSA with just 8000 miles on. I don’t ride anywhere near enough but my 2022 Rally Pro that I traded had 18600 miles on.
The GSA must have been almost an ornament. I am quite wary about buying very low mileage vehicles as one must why it hasn’t been used. What is or has been wrong with it fit it to have such low mileage? However the salesman assured me it was fine and had been thoroughly checked over and came with 2 years BMW warranty and breakdown cover.

I think we've all got different metabolisms and fitness levels meaning what works for one person won't suit another. Until retirement in 2023 my bike was my main form of transport and used all year round, even in snow and it still gets used for long trips regardless of the weather. I've got a cool cover permanently fitted and not once have I felt the slightest need for a heated seat. But then again I don't suffer that much from cold feet or hands either. I did buy a heated vest last year as a treat as it means I don't have to put on additional layers when the temperature drops.

Mine is red hot on number 1 setting . I’m quite sure you can set the level of heat through the software using a GS911

I don’t think you can do much with the GS911 tool with the 1300 yet.
That’s why I sold mine.

A heated seat on a motorcycle? Really?
What a totally ridiculous and frivolous absurdity.

So rediculous and absurd i had to have it when i ordered my 1250... 🤡

I've never had a heated seat but I wouldn't rule one out.
Prior to the GS, I never had heated grips either, I soon found out they are a game changer!

I suspect a heated seat would be just as amazing lol

I do have have the full Keis heated range though.

I chose not to ride in the cold. It’s ‘orrible!
