Tomorrow I'll be adding the wiring to my Fog lights from TT. While I'm at it I'll be upgrading them to Les's HID's. I have my own handle bar switch and will be butchering the TT supplied wiring to match my preferred setup.
According to the TT instructions, I'm required to tap into the low beam wire for the solenoid switch. [Which is a bit of a pain in the a**]

Are there alternatives? I just need a ignition switched source, can I tap into the BMW diagnostic's green with blue stripped wire? [Worried about warranty issues:confused:]
I'm planning to have the solenoid under the tool tray, near the battery.

Cheers

With no suggestions, I'll play it safe and go with the low beam.

Just found this thread so apologies for the delay in replying, but if you really don't want to take a trigger feed from the low beam (browns negative btw) you could always use the auxiliary socket feed under the tool tray.

Only thing to be aware of it will stay live for about a minute after you turn off.

That's a great idea as I'm mounting the relay under the tool tray where that socket is:roll
I have no issue with the 1min delay in power off.

Many thanks:bounce1

Wiring the trigger feed from the Aux socket has the added advantage that you can't forget any lights on - the bike shuts it off after the programmed time. Like many other riders, I also went one step futher and used the aux feed as main trigger supply for the solenoid that supplies power to the blue sea fusebox. This way you can add any future electrical additions to the fuse box, but nothing can be left on accidentally.
