I was in two minds on posting this but decided to as need to share this one:

I had booked my 1200GSA in for a 12k service, they were due to collect my bike from home, my missus would wait in and open the garage etc.
We (myself and Wollaston) agreed that the driver would call to let her know when he would arrive.
11:00 am on the day I called home to check the bike had been collected only to find it hadn't and no phone calls had been made, so I called the dealer and was told that I hadn't been forgotten and he would be there soon - I need to cut this short as it could go on for pages and pages, the end result was that my bike wasn't collected and no one called home to explain they were running late due to a RTA on M1.
I really kicked off at the service dept, explaining that this level of service is on par to waiting for someone to fix the washing machine who nevers arrives and I expect better from a BMW dealer.
This was last week, on Tues this week they collected my bike from work, serviced it, replaced the rear brake pads, filled it with petrol (was low) and washed it - and didn't charge me a single penny - I even offered to pay but they wouldn't let me. What a fecking result.... :clap
It just goes to show, that despite messing up (happens fairly often) they do go the extra mile and then some, to put it right.
Thanks to Peter and Richard H (incase they read this).

Thats customer service above and beyond the call of duty.

Thanks for posting about the good dealers, it's good to hear. :thumb2:clap

lol, I am very happy with Wollaston, very friendly bunch, always ask after my little 5 month old girl who was a bump when I bought my GSA.
I understand that things go wrong, this is the real world and some things are out of our (the dealers) control, and when they go to these lengths to remedy the situation I think they need the credit for doing so :thumb.
They have, by far, exceeded my expections and I feel I need to say thanks, and this forum is one way of doing it.
:clap:clap:clap

The heart of good service is not how it's delivered when things go well but how it works when things go wrong. CS gurus reckon this is where competitive advantage is to be had.

Wollaston made a cock up on the spec of my 1 series car and, give them their due, fixed it all with minimal fuss. Would go back and am happy to share a positive experience.

I've had my bike for a few months now, had the discs replaced under warranty and bought a few bits from Woolaston too.
My experience there has been first class, I'm very impressed with the level of service and support there, (Richard).
I didn't even get my bike from them.

Recommended,
Ollie

Good to hear, espescially as I bought my bike from Wollaston and have it serviced there :) :)

When everything runs smoothly and a bike is reliable, it's easy to assume you have a good dealer. It's when things go wrong that you really find out whther you have a good one or not.

We all know shit happens, but in your case they definitely seem to have gone the extra mile to make ammends. Thanks for posting.

Nice to hear of good service,

More so because my rt is booked in there next friday.

I'd agree with the comments here - always helpful and they serve good coffee :)
But why do I always end up with the 650 as a loaner? They obviously don't trust me on anything more expensive......

Great to hear nice things said about Wollaston BMW, I was born in Wollaston and my Uncle Ted originally started the business in Wollaston village high street (near Wellingborough) in the 1970's before relocating to Northampton. The dealership has passed from father to son twice since, but remains true to its family roots and service ethic. It is a long term family business with many years of experience, and the team there want to provide customer satisfaction and maintain their good reputation.

Sorry to hear about the inital mess up with your bike Rob K, but glad that Wollaston made amends as soon as circumstances allowed.

I was going to get my bike serviced by Steptoe the other week, but couldn't get there because of an RTA on the M25. I didn't call to let him know...

... do I get a free service now? :aidan

ps. getting back on thread, Wollastons have always been pretty good IMHO

Will give your bike a free service - this coming monday (6thOct) is the only day i can do it free. See you at 8.30am. :D

Another plus for Wollaston,

Took my bike in for a service on Friday,

As promised had a k1200s, What a fantastic bike, boy does it shift, and so planted on the road, Went back up there this morning to collect the bike,

Done everything that i asked, the suspension was very hard on what ever setting i had it on, and have re programmed it , and was a little dissapointed that the front of the engine casing was coroded, all been sorted with a warranty claim. Needs to go back in to sort the work out, once the parts have arrived.

They cleaned it for me, as well.

Service was very friendly, quick, and i felt very informed.

Total cost 110quid, for the 18k service.

sad point was giving the K back, boy the rt felt sluggish after that, but my wrists felf the relief.

110 quid  that sounds rather good as I will need a 18k service soon - what did you have done to the bike?

Don't think I will ask for the K1200S loan bike - I have seen your pain...

They did a liquid change, checked out the suspension, as did not feel much of a change in the settings, and sorted the warranty claim, I was thinking it was going to more like 200 quid, there was a charge for a loan bike of 15 quid, which i never realised was going to be charged,

But on reflexion, its worth it for a loan bike,

Been on a rideout today with my local IAM group, and missed the K1200, boy did i love that bike, it would be great if it was just me on the bike,

Still can always ask for one each time it needs work on the bike.

Thanks again, had a great friday, leading onto a great sunday out on the bike.

Brilliant dealer, supported me with many issues with the bike with no complaints and exemplary service. Got me a cracking deal from BMW after problems with my bike.

Wollaston get a :thumb from me too...

I have found their service has been nothing short of excellent, well above and beyond the call of duty. I have been using them for servicing for a while now and when I changed my bike recently, no-one could even come close on the deal that they offered me!

Credit where credit is due. :clap

Would like to echo this one - I've had some fab service from them after some fairly bad behaviour on the part of my 1200GS. Like you say, credit where it's due. I'd def recommend them.

Sod it, this is to nice, good service but the sales blokes are all ugly feckers though:D:D:D:D:D

I bought our last bikes from Wollaston, one for me and one for the wife. We also spent quite a bit of cash on new helmets and stuff. I was very impressed with their service.
About a week ago I noticed that they had a 2005 bike for sale that I was interested in. As I am now a French resident, I emailed them and asked if they would be able to get a Certificate of Conformity from BMW UK for this bike. I would need one to register it in France. I know that BMW UK issue the C of C for free so I thought that it would be easier for them to confirm that they had one before I make travel arrangements to go and see the bike.
I never got an answer to my email and now am looking at other UK dealers to find what I want. A real shame as they used to be very good.
