WTF ..is the Rear brake light switch?

hi Guys...
Can anyone help - the plastic rear brake light switch cover fell off my 1200 whilst ham fisted fettling was taking place in readiness for trip to Spain. For the life of me I cannot see where the begger should go. The part number is 35 217 652 212. I've looked it up on the appropriate microfische and it shows the part close to the rear brake pedal but I just cannot locate the switch!
I'm running out of time.. things to do... people to see.... bills to pay (urgh!).. New tyres to fit..... etc etc.
If the font of all knowledge is out there can you help? It's driving me mad!

Small microswitch under the bike at the inside on the pedal.... try lying on your back wih bike on side stand.

Been there...done that... - It's just not there. Mine is a 2009 1200GS SE. There is a small threaded bolt hole on the brake arm where I would have thought a microswitch would have been located. I wonder if they have relocated it on my particular model? Brake lights still actuate when I depress the brake pedal so it must be hiding somewhere....
Anyone with a similar model who can shed light on this?
