The Xcountry arrived at 11am this morning so by 11.30 the £26 puig screen was fitted and I was off.

What an absolute hoot, and so much better than the g650gs I had tried a couple of weeks ago.

I managed to find a couple of short tracks that I already knew and the bike seemed to handle very well, although I'm no offroad expert.

I did lots of Knarley gravely back roads which the bike just inspired confidence on.

It's a long time since I've had so much fun on a bike, just need to get a few extras now i.e hand guards and a better bash plate then see if I can find some tracks and green lanes.

Just going to have a bite to eat then I'm off again:thumb.

Nice one Steve, I have to agree, there are good fun :thumb2

Once again thanks for the heads up Piggers, the bike really is indistinguishable from new.

It also came with a Remus can and trickle charger, the origional can has never been on the bike apart from when it was manufactured, and even though it's only done 1500mls it's been serviced every year.

I just have one small dilemma, seeing as the Xcountry is the 3rd bike in my shed now (1200gs,955i daytona) do I sell the origional can,of which I have no idea of it's value, and put the funds toward an alloy bash plate and some handguards or do I keep it ???

Steve

If you want a hardcore bashplate go for 1 of Stephan's (Scheffelmeir)

If you are only doing gravel tracks, my original Xch bashplate is gathering dust in my, too small, workshop. Having a clear out and trying to raise some funds for other bits.
