Yet another tyre question!

My GS LC will be needing new tyres in about 2000 miles. I really like the look of the GS with off-road tyres on it.
I mainly do on-road riding but do venture off-road too.

What are the best road handling "off-road looking" tyres out there?
Basically I want the look of off-road tyres with the cornering confidence of road tyres and not too much vibration or noise.

Am I asking too much?
Currently got Tourance Nexts and they are excellent, just don't look very off-roady..

Avon Trailriders. Just swapped to them from PR4's.

1. Look the business
2. Handle great dry and wet
3. Absolutely no tyre drone

Ps. I have a set of PR4s with about 300 miles on them if anyone is interested.

Pirelli Scorpion Trail 2. Same compound as Pirelli AngelGT (grippy tarmac sport touring) but re-treaded for dual-sport use. Grippy as a grippy thing on tarmac.

Just fit a pair of Tourance "original" - you won't outride them.

You'll get around 5000miles out of the rear, too.

I did wonder about the Tourane originals they look really good.
Anybody got any experience of them vs the Nexts?

Let's face it, no "dual sport" tyre is any use whatsoever anywhere except on the road. I remember having Anakee 2's on a Tiger 955i and going onto a field. The A2 had much wider gaps between the blocks than more recent "dual sport" tyres. Anyway, the tread got filled with mud within seconds with wheel-spin as the result. If you want to go off road, fit knobblies.

Dual-sport tyres are marketing department bollocks. IMHO, of course.

What comparison are you looking for? Chunkyness? Noise? Mileage? Cost?

Jeezo- take a punt on the Tourance. They are by far - the most-fitted tyre to the BMW GS - for good reason.

Don't analyse it to the far end of a fart.

It's the BMW tinted screen for the GSA.

Not for the first 100 miles, but after that yes
