I found my drive shaft would not separate when stripping the bike to do the clutch, investigation showed it to be seized solid, I eventually managed to separate the two parts and found the cause was a plastic paint finish on the splines, I removed this with a Stanley knife blade after advice from Steve at Scriminger Engineering
Whilst the shaft was seized movement is by the F/Drive U/J pulling over the spring clip on the input spline of the F/Drive, not the best idea!
The drive shaft was also out of phase which I sorted :thumb
I found other posts on this subject on the site and thought I would add this to the knowledge pot :D

How did you manage to separate the 2 parts?

I closed a vice to within about 1/4" of the narrow part of the shaft, added a bit of heat to the narrow part and pulled sharply back so the end of the vice jaws hit the base of the Front U/J, The strike point on the U/J is marked in black
